Taylor Rental & Industrial Sales in Plattsburgh is looking for a Class A CDL Driver to join our team. Pay rate: $25–$30/hour, based on experience

Job Description & Duties

As a Class A CDL Driver, you’ll follow route assignments from the Distribution Manager/Driver Supervisor and represent Taylor Rental with every delivery you make. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Following the policies and procedures put in place by Taylor Rental
  • Attending all driver and safety meetings — you’ll always get ample notice
  • Completing safety meeting paperwork and handing in all gas slips daily
  • Handing in daily DOT truck reports, in conjunction with the Maintenance Coordinator
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients and businesses safely and on time
  • Reviewing orders to confirm they’re complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
  • Greeting every customer with a smile and a positive attitude
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Providing excellent customer service — answering questions and handling any complaints professionally
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
  • Operating equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, and forklifts
  • Keeping the truck clean, including removing garbage and keeping the floors clear
  • Filling washer fluid, DEF, and antifreeze as needed
  • Wrapping up and organizing straps after each use
  • Loading the truck evenly and distributing weight properly
  • Making sure every load is secure so product isn’t damaged in transit
  • Reporting any damage that occurs between pickup and delivery to your supervisor right away
