Our family-owned farm and garden equipment business, with a rich history spanning over 70 years, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our dedicated team. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our diverse range of agricultural and garden equipment.

– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, including tractors, combines, harvesters, mowers, and other machinery used in farming and gardening.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
– Conduct thorough inspections to assess the condition of equipment and identify potential problems before they escalate.
– Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems, using your own tools.
– Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to ensure equipment longevity and optimal performance.
– Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional recommendations for future maintenance.
– Collaborate with other technicians and team members to share knowledge, provide assistance, and ensure efficient workflow.
– Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
– Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, preferably in a farm or garden equipment setting.
– Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in heavy equipment.
– Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions effectively.
– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
– Possession of a comprehensive set of tools required for heavy equipment repairs.
– Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts during the busy season.
– Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
